St. Anthony in Meneage Church Cornwall - St. Anthony

Beautifully situated at the mouth of the Durra Creek, St Anthony Church consists of a chancel, nave of 5 bays, north aisle, south transept, south porch and western tower.

The church was probably build on the site of an EE Cruciform church, there being a 13th century lancet in the north wall of the chancel. The north aisle was added during the early 15th century, at the same time the church was largely rebuilt and enlarged, extended in perp style.

Rood stairs on the N. Side have the unusual feature of an exterior door. Late 13th cent circular font. 13th cent stoup in porch. The font is of the 15th century although mounted on the base of a 12th century font.

The only electricity supply is to the tower, the church itself is lit by means of candlepower held in 18 brass chandeliers.
